The Festival Gastronomia & Folclore is the most popular Day of Portugal event which highlights our rich local Portuguese culture. This event features local organizations selling their most treasured regional dishes and compete for best dish while traditional folkloric dance groups entertain the crowd.

Festival do Mundo Lusofono - Rhode Island College Campus (Sapinsley Hall, Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts).

Presentations by school children of Rhode Island who are studying Portuguese in community Portuguese schools, middle schools and high schools.

Exhibit of the winning artwork for the 2009 Calendar Art Contest and award presentation.

Sponsored by the Institute for Portuguese and Lusophone World Studies and the 2009 Committee of the Day of Portugal and Portuguese Heritage in RI, Inc.

Open to the public. Students and children free of charge. Adults: $5.00 donation.

PACCRI will be promoting this event which will consist of the official flag raising. In addition, special awards will be awarded to members of the community. The event will finish off with food being served on the first floor level of City Hall.
