A Message from the President Antonio Ambrosio,

In 2010 it will mark the 33rd consecutive celebration of the “Dia de Portugal, de Camões e das Comunidades Portuguesas” in the State of Rhode Island.  It is a grand celebration shared by Portuguese-speaking countries throughout the world. The 2010 Committee of the Day of Portugal and Portuguese Heritage in RI, Inc. is honored to carry on this tradition begun by so many proud Portuguese-Americans who came before us.

The success of this celebration is a testament to the pride and hard work of our community.  We are proud of the tireless and selfless contributions of them all. They are truly the thread of the fabric that holds our community together.

There are many colorful and delightful events that take place during the months of March, April, May and June. They are meant to celebrate the Portuguese culture by unifying our local Portuguese community, to work on continuing the traditions by embracing the presence of the youth, and engage all those who may not be familiar with our traditions and customs.

Lastly, let me take this opportunity to thank the 2010 Committee for their dedication and tireless work as well as the numerous clubs, organizations and institutions that contribute to the continuous success of these events. Without the dedication and contributions of so many, this celebration would not be possible.

                                                Um abraço e Viva Portugal!
